3,000 participants are expected to attend the 53rd edition of the Bourse Européenne des Grains (European Commodities Exchange). which is to be held in Paris on 10 and 11 October. For the first time the event will be held over two days. It is organised each year in a major European city and brings together the entire spectrum of grain sector professionals: cooperatives, collectors, traders, brokers, processors, livestock feed manufacturers, transport operators, grain port managers, etc.
In addition to the record numbers of professional participants that are expected, 130 exhibitors will be welcoming them to the 10,000 m² of exhibition space that has been reserved at the Palais des Congrès for this event, which will undoubtedly be the largest gathering of its kind. Baudoin Delforge, president of the Syndicat Général de la Bourse de Commerce de Paris (General Union of the Paris Commodities Exchanges), which is organising the 53rd Bourse Européenne, emphasised the importance of Paris as a choice of venue, lying as it does at the strategic crossroads of trade in the grain sector, whilst France is the leading European exporter of wheat to third countries: 10 Mt this harvest, alone accounting for more than half of Community sales.
