France’s LMA delayed until January 2014 - The law on the modernisation of agriculture (LMA) in France has been pushed back once again. The debate was to have taken place in June 2013, then in September and finally in December. However, the law will now go before parliament in January 2014 and the proposals will obviously include the agro-ecological project. By delaying the date, French agriculture minister Stéphane Le Foll, issued a response to Xavier Beulin, president of the French National Federation of Farmers’ Unions (FNSEA) who, at a press conference on the same day, stated that “a month is not long enough to discuss the future law.”
